+ SEARCH N' SLURP
For my second project of senior year at the School of Visual Arts, the assignment was to create a new digital experience for an existing brand that has existed for 20+ years. While brainstorming companies I wanted to use as vehicle for this project, I walked into a 7 Eleven to get a Slurpee. It was meant to be. I have been happily sipping on Slurpees from 7 Eleven my whole life. It was the perfect subject for the project.

+ THE IDEA
A 7 Eleven Slurpee scavenger hunt called Search N' Slurp taking place in 7 select cities across the world. Other than being a disruptive solution for a night of fun, the main idea is to create hype about 7 new Slurpee flavors that 7 Eleven will be releasing.

+ DISCOVERY
Billboards will be posted around the 7 select cities creating awareness for the Search N' Slurp event. 7 Eleven will also be Instagraming looping animated GIFs hinting at what the 7 new flavors are going to be.

+ DOWNLOADING THE APP
When users download the app, they will be instructed to visit a local 7 Eleven to "Get The Cup" in order to register for the Search N' Slurp event.

+ ONBOARDING
In order to make sure users fully understand how Search N' Slurp will function, they will go through a brief and exciting animated onboarding experience.

+ CREATE SQUAD
Users will have the option to participate in Search N' Slurp "solo", or they can create a squad of up to 3 friends. The Search N' Slurp app will pull in the user's contact list for an easy invitation process.

+ WAITING COUNTDOWN
A countdown with looping animated GIFs will update daily to hint at the flavors that will be released on the day of the event.

+ FINAL COUNTDOWN
1 minute before the event begins, users will receive a text message notification to open up their Search N' Slurp app. At 7 seconds, the official countdown begins.

+ RADAR
The radar is how users will track down the new hidden Slurpee flavors. The stores that are hosting the new Slurpee flavors will be represented as dots on the radar. I was inspired to use a radar convention to find the Slurpees, because of the radial shape of the Slurpee machine.

+ TAKE PHOTOS FOR INSTAGRAM
Users will take photos while on the hunt for flavors, the person or squad with the most liked photos from the event will win a prize. Hearts pop up within the app as your photos get likes on Instagram. Considering 7 Eleven has a strong social presence on Instagram, this feature will inherently drive more traffic to their account.

+ LEADERBOARDS AND SEARCH LISTS
For the competitive people out there, the leaderboards and the search list are important. Triggers for these screens can be found on the navigation controller of the radar screen. The menus will allow users to see who is ahead of them and what Slurpees they have found.

Since the Slurpee debuted in 1966, over 7 billion have been sold world wide. That is one Slurpee for every person in the planet. Search N' Slurp is an idea to celebrate the Slurpee product and the people who drink it.

+ NAME EXPLORATION
Considering the concept is out of the ordinary, I wanted the name to directly communicate what happens in the event. Search N' Slurp seemed like the perfect fit.

+ LOCATIONS
Search N’ Slurp takes place in 7 cities or states that have very high densities of store locations in small areas. The event will function best like this because people will be able to get from store to store at a faster more convenient rate.

+ COLLEGE STUDENT TARGET
College students are constantly on a low budget diet, and in need of something quick to snack on. In some cities 65% of all annual sales are contributed by college students.

The flow of the Search N' Slurp application is relatively simple, broken up into 7 main user segments; registration, preparation, squad set up, waiting, hunt activities, Slurpee found, and hunt complete.
